Tangelo, Large
Easy to peel and full of tangy sweetness, this knobby citrus has few seeds.
In season: Winter
We look for citrus that's heavy for size, with bright skin.
- Freshest in winter.
- Good for car fuel, school snacks, fruit platters, salads, juice, as a sub for orange or tangerine in any recipe.
- Store in fridge crisper, or very cool pantry, up to a week.
Did you know? This is a great fruit, and a grape fruit...cross with a mandarin! A popular variety is known as 'Honeybell' (Minneola) because of the bell shape. Another Tangelo variety is really a pomelo cross with a grapefruit, although this variety is less common in Australia.
Top Tip
This makes the perfect juice, even better than orange juice...try it!
