Peach, Yellow
The peach is originally from China where it is regarded as a tree of life.
They are often bought firm and a bit crunchy, but quickly soften.
Each is approximately 80g, which counts as one fruit (in your recommended 2 per day) with antioxidants, phenolic compounds, fibre and loads of vitamins!
They are in the same family as nectarines, plums, cherries and apricots.
- Freshest in summer. Australian peaches are available between December to April. Subject to availability in short seasons.
- Good for salad, snacks, dessert, jam, chutney, marinades (chicken, fish, pork).
- Store in airtight container / bag in fridge when they're ripe. Leave them in a paper bag to ripen at room temp. Handle with care, they bruise easily!
