Lettuce, Red Leaf
It's red, delicate, so curly, and a little bit posh. It's also a dietician's dream with low KJs per serve, and high vitamin A, plus vitamin K, magnesium, manganese, folate, and iron.
Take care with prep. Wash and ensure there's no visible dirt on leaves, shake leaves gently and pat dry before serving. Use quickly as it spoils easily.
- Fresh all year round.
- Good for salads, sandos and sides.
- Store in crisper in fridge, up to 4 days. Use quickly as possible.
How do you store your lettuce? Some cut off lettuce head and stems, pull apart leaves and plonk them in cold water so dirt and sand sink to the bottom, then spin them out and put paper towel over them. We place ours in a bowl in the fridge (can add sugar to the water).
