Pineapple, Gold Topless
The Gold Topless is a smooth leaf pineapple with the top chopped off that's super juicy.
We love the happiness these sunshine coast pines bring to our tables. We look for aromatic ones that are heavy for their size with flat and hollow nodules.
Let mum know that pineapples don't just beam bright, they're are a good source of vitamin C, manganese and fibre to keep you beaming!
- Freshest in October.
- Good for a damn fine juice (or mocktail) holder, drinks (like super mint pine mocktails), seafood, pork, salads and sides (like salsa).
- Store in pantry or fridge for two days (eat the pine by day 3).
A pineapple will not ripen after harvesting so they're usually ready to chomp on (even if the skin looks a little green).
Buying your pineapples at a local grocer (thank you!) ensures it is really fresh and delicious.
In Australia you can also get rough leaf pineapples that are smaller with rough, spiky skin that's yellow but tinged with green (which becomes orange-yellow when the fruit is ripe).
