Grapes, White Seedless

Currently we love Australian-grown grapes like:
• Thompson Seedless: small to medium yellow-green oblong shaped grape with a soft berry skin, firm juicy pulp, and a sweet flavour. Available from January to May.
• Menindee Seedless: light green to yellow oval-shaped grape with deliciously sweet, firm flesh and no seeds. Available from November to February.

Grapes are grown right across our vast continent from WA to QLD and from the NT to the southern VIC. While WA produces grapes for most of the season, early season grapes emanate from the NT, QLD and NSW. The bulk of late season grapes come from VIC.

• Freshest in summer.
• Good for school snacks, fruit salad, roasting.
• Store in fridge crisper at the back (it's cold there). Keep away from smelly foods like onions and leeks, as grapes can absorb odours. OR freeze (keeps for months) by removing stems, washing, drying and placing on a tray.

Did you know?
Grapes were brought to Australia on the First fleet in 1788. Our first Governor, Governor Phillip planted a small vineyard as one of his first ventures into agriculture in the new colony. 

Top Tip

• Use frozen grapes instead of ice in a drink.
• Blend frozen seedless grapes to make a grape (!), refreshing slushy.
