They’re native to Southeast Asia and China, but mandarins are grown in the Queensland region too (and southern areas of Australia)! These are juicy, dark in colour with a low seed count and a smooth, thin rind that peels easily. Huge and sweet. Yes to seeds! 

• Freshest in May to October.
• Good for car fuel, school snacks, fruit platters, salads. 
• Store in fridge crisper, or very cool pantry, up to a week.

Did you know? The Ellendale is a cross between a mandarin and an orange. It is larger than the Imperial and has orange skin with orange flesh. It is also easy to peel. Other mandy varieties are the sweet, seedy Murcott (or Honey Murcott, Honey tangerine). The Daisy, Hickson, and Mystique are some other mandarin varieties that are grown in Australia.
