Pear, William Bartlett

Mr William Bartlett is a sweet, juicy gentleman, with a robust build and very bright skin.

Did you know?

  • 90% of Aussie pears come from Victoria’s Goulburn Valley (we do sometimes get the local Stanthorpe one though), and 20% of pears grown here, in OZ, are William Bartletts.
  •  A pear is a pome fruit from the Rosaceae family, just like an apple or quince.

Top Tip
Is your pear ripe? Press the flesh gently near the stem and if it gives a little, then it's ready to eat! William Bartletts will turn yellowish when ripe.

    • Freshest in February until May.
    • Good for a fine cheese toastie (try 3 different cheeses topped off with sliced pear), smoothies, salads, platters.
    • Store in fridge, when ripe in the fruit section. Keep pears at room temp to ripen, in a brown paper bag (add a banana for a faster process.
